Quick Look: Green Lips, Glittery Eyes and Way Too Much fun Posing!

Today's look came around because I really wanted to use Impulse Cosmetics' Boggart lipstick after I reviewed it yesterday. I paired the look with some shimmery gold eyeshadows that have a green tinge to them by Madison Street Beauty. On the inner 2/3 of my lid is Pear and on the outer corner is Golden Olive. I lined just my bottom lashline and waterline with a black eyeliner pencil.

Now for some pictures! Like it says in the title, I had a ton of fun posing for these pictures, so please excuse how ridiculous some of these are. I enjoyed making faces though, so you can just deal with it!

Also please excuse my semi wet, extremely messy hair. Get used to it.

I really like how the green lipstick brings out the green in the eyeshadows! If you are inclined to buy this lipstick after seeing this, keep in mind that you will want s good lip primer underneath it (preferably one that blocks out the colour of your lips!). It won't go on nearly as smooth without one. I used my ELF lip plumper and primer duo, but I only used the primer side.

(One more for good measure! I think I look badass in this one!)

What is your favourite green makeup?

Review: Impulse Cosmetics' Winnie And Boggart

This review has taken way too long for no good reason. Every time I have thought of taking swatch photos recently, I immediately went "blah, that's too much work," and moved on to something else. My life has been a little crazy and stressful lately, but I have no idea why I thought swiping some things on my arm and taking a photo was so much work! Don't worry though, I got over it the other day and did swatches of tons of things I need to review!

Today I will be reviewing the two things I ordered from Impulse Cosmetics over the holidays. Don't worry, I have had these for a while and did not break my spending ban to get them. I ordered one eyeshadow called Winnie and one new lipstick called Boggart. And here they are!

Winnie is a orange with a teal shift to it, and Boggart is one of their new Metalluxe lipsticks in a dark green shade.

I will start by reviewing Winnie. This eyeshadow is so unique that I just had to pick it up. It is a tan/orange shade that on it's own wouldn't be very impressive, but it is filled with these really pretty teal/aqua sparkles! The photos don't do this justice at all. Actually, the sparkles do show up, but the amazing colour of them doesn't show through at all, which is very disappointing. I am clearly going to have to work on my swatch photo skills! You will just have to trust me when I say this shade is beautiful and unique, or just go to their website and see pictures taken by someone who sucks a little less than me at it!

Now for a review of Boggart. I have extremely mixed feelings about this lipstick. I'll get the bad news out of the way first. This is not nearly as opaque as any other Impulse Cosmetics lipstick I have tried. In fact the opacity of this is pitiful compared to the rest of them. The swatch above required about 3 swipes and it takes even more when applying it to the lips. It is also really hard to get the colour even on my lips. It has a blackish base to it with the metallic green over top and if you aren't careful, you can get patches of just that blackened base. Now, for the good news. This colour is absolutely gorgeous, and once you get it on right it does stay put for a good amount of time. This colour is a pretty good dupe for Limecrime's Serpentina lipstick, although I don't have that one to make an actual comparison. I have a feeling that the Limecrime version might take a little less work to get on though, so if you are willing to pay their prices, I might recommend going with their metallic green instead of this one. I feel almost bad saying that, because I am such a devoted Impulse fan at this point, but I really think they fell short with this one. Oh well, I will continue to purchase from them, because every other lipstick I have bought from them has been amazing!

I am still pleased with my order, even though the lipstick was less than perfect. It still works eventually and I really love the colour, so I will make do. I also love the eyeshadow!

Have you ever tried anything from Impulse Cosmetics?

Review: More Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics!

If you read my spending ban update, then you know I made a little mistake a few weeks ago when Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics was having a sale. I had received a sample of Neno in my first order and just had to get a full sized jar of it. While I was at it I also got Tempest which I have had my eye on. My order also came with a few extra goodies, and here it all is:

On the top we have Neno and Tempest, and on the bottom is a Coffin Kisser in Strangely Charming cherry, a sample of Forgotten Dreams and a sample of Hearts of Black Lace.

I am so pleased with my extras, especially the Coffin Kisser! This is honestly one of the best lip balms I have ever used. It smells perfectly of maraschino cherries and is so incredibly moisturizing as well. I plan on getting more of them next time I place an order, and you should too!

Now for some swatches of the eyeshadows!

From top to bottom we have:

Neno, n insanely sparkly taupe colour. I highly recommend this one!
Tempest, a beautiful rose gold shade.
Forgotten Dreams, a very sparkly lavender colour, that didn't really show up so well on my camera. It is much more purple and less grey in person.
Hearts of Black Lace, which is a really gorgeous, dark reddish purple. This one is less shimmery and sparkly, but it has a nice almost metallic sheen to it anyways. This one also didn't want to look good on my camera. It is still really dark, but it looks more like a dark purple wine shade in person.

Well, that's it for my latest Notoriously Morbid mini haul! I will try not to break my spending ban again!

My First Empties Post

This has been a long time coming, but I finally have an empties post ready for you guys! Some of these I have been saving up for a while, because I didn't want to bother with this until I had a lot of items. The first 5 items I will show you are things that I legitimately ran out of. The last 2 items were just crappy, and old. Without further ado, here they are:

In the first row we have:

L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Waterproof Eyeliner in Black
This was just a random eyeliner I picked up at the drug store one day when I was out. I have had this lying around for a very long time waiting for this post. The eyeliner comes with a felt tip applicator, which I am not a huge fan of. You can't get a thin enough line at the edges, in my opinion. It also dries to a very shiny satin finish, which can pick up your eyeshadows way too easily. I also found that this flakes off a bit by the end of the day. In the end I was not impressed with this eyeliner, and would not repurchase it.

Gosh Waterproof Shadestick in Love That Real Gold!
This is an amazing product! I have been using Gosh waterproof eyeshadow sticks as eyeshadow bases for years and they work so well. This one is a lovely light gold colour with a bit of sparkle to it. These last all day under my eyeshadow and don't crease! I will definitely be repurchasing this and many other colours!

NYX Doll Eye Waterproof Mascara
This comes with a thin, curvy brush that I really like. The formula on the other hand is just like every other boring mascara out there. It does lengthen and thicken my lashes a bit, but I definitely don't get any "Doll Eye" effects. I also found that this formula was not very waterproof either. It held up for a little while in wet conditions, but it wasn't great. I will not be repurchasing this.

Annabelle Skin True Foundation
This is my favourite foundation. It makes my skin so flawless and lasts a long time. I have already bought another bottle to replace this one.

Burt's Bees Rejuvinating Lip Balm with Acai Berry
I have so many lip balms that it is rare for me to ever finish one completely. This lip balm is so amazing though, that I had to use it up before I could move on to any others. Out of all the Burt's Bees lip balms, this is probably my favourite. This or the Grapefruit one because it smells sooooo good. I won't be repurchasing this right now because, like I said, I have so many lip balms already, but I will get this again someday.

And now for the much sadder second row. These are the products that I didn't use up, but just suck so much I have to toss them.

NYX Felt Tip Liner in Jet Black
This eyeliner sucks, like a lot. I have never really hate a makeup product before, but this i just so horrible. I hate it!!! Not only does it have the fattest, stiffest felt tip that scratches across your skin almost painfully, but the formula is also just pathetic. It goes on so light and barely black and last maybe an hour before smudging. I honestly don't know how NYX decided to release this! I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever buy this terrible eyeliner again and I hope none of you do either!

Covergirl Naturelux Foundation in 320
This foundation is actually a few years old now. I found it a few days ago in an old bag of makeup that I haven't touched in forever. I do remember that it found it's way into that bag because I didn't much like it though. From what I recall the wear time on it just wasn't very good and it wasn't full coverage enough. It is a little too old at this point to test out again though, so this is going straight in the trash. I wouldn't repurchase this again.

Well, that's it for my empties post! I'm going to go throw out all this junk now, yay!

Quick Look: Sparkly Smoky Eye

Today's look is an extremely glittery smoky eye! On my eyelids is Neno, by Notoriously Morbid, which is the most ridiculously sparkle filled taupey-brown shade I have ever seen. The pictures barely even to it justice. I then used Glamour Doll Eyes Smoked Diamonds in my crease, a smoky grey that is also extremely sparkly, with a touch of matte black to deepen it further. I then blended everything out with Cloud Coverage by Glamour Doll Eyes, a matte white. I only lined my bottom lashline and then my waterlines with a black eyeliner pencil, to balance out the top half. I don't think liner on the top lashline is needed with a good smoky eye.

I'm a little shiny in these pics, but it was more of a dewy glow in person, at least I hope!

To finish the look off I used NARS Mata Hari blush on my cheeks and ELF Ravishing Rose lipstick.

That's it for this extra sparkly look. The camera doesn't pick up even half the glitter on my face, but I hope you like it!

The Hair Chronicles: No Shampoo Dandruff Treatment

For those of you who don't know, I don't shampoo my hair ever. If you want you can catch up here if you wish.

I said a little while ago that I was going to start trying out some natural hair treatments. The first thing I wanted to try was something to fix my dandruff. I don't normally have dandruff but the baking soda seems to by drying out my scalp a bit. The first hair treatment I read about was using tea tree oil as a dandruff treatment, so I tried it about 2 weeks ago. I waited until now to see if the results would last.

I think I am reusing images but I'm lazy. This is the tea tree oil I used. It is a brand called Hollista and I just bought it at my local drug store.

To use it, I washed my hair first with the baking soda and then used my apple cider vinegar as a conditioner. Then I shook a few drops of tea tree oil into my hands and started rubbing it into my scalp, trying to avoid my hair as much as possible. I had to do this about 4 times to get it everywhere on my scalp. After I had it rubbed all over my scalp I sort of massaged my head for about a minute, still trying not to rub much into my hair, but that was hard. Then I let it sit for another minute and rinsed it out. You have to do this step at the end so that you don't wash out all the oil.

When my hair was all dry I noticed a few things. The first thing I noticed was that I definitely smelled like tea tree oil. Like a lot. I don't really mind smelling like a crazy strong herbal scent, but some people might. This smell hung around for about 2 days, which is kind of long to me. The next thing was that my hair did look a bit greasy very close to the scalp. I had just put oil into it without washing it out, so I kind of expected that. This just meant that I left my hair up until my next shower, which I don't mind.

The final thing I noticed was that my dandruff was gone! It had really worked! It has been 2 weeks since I did this and my scalp is still dandruff free, but I have a feeling I will need to do this again soon. Anyone who suffers from more severe dandruff might need to do this slightly more often than me.

I am really excited about how well this worked! My biggest issue was the scent. I didn't mind it much but whenever I went anywhere I worried that I stank to everyone else. If I have to put up with that for 2 days, I don't really mind if it means flake free hair!

What do you think, would you try this?

What's For Dinner? Veggies In Peanut Sauce

This is a dinner I made a few nights ago, served over some leftover rice. Whenever I make rice, I like to make the biggest pot possible, so that I can make at least one more meal with it later in the week. It is less work and dishes in the long run!

Ingredients:
- Onion
- Chinese Broccoli
- Baby Bok Choi
- Nappa Cabbage
- Zucchini
- Eggplant

Sauce Ingredients:
- Peanut butter (about 1/4 c)
- Coconut Cream (about 1/2-3/4c)
- Water (enough to make it runny and smooth)
- Soy Sauce (a few tbsp, until it tastes salty enough)
- Lime juice (to taste)
- Fish sauce (just a few drops)
- Chili paste (a few spoonfuls, depending on how much heat you like)
- Garlic, grated (about 3 cloves)
- Ginger, grated(2 cubic inches or so)
- Cilantro, chopped (a big handful)

I made the sauce ahead of time and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours, so that all the flavours would mix together well. When it was time to cook it all I chopped the veggies into fairly large pieces. The cabbage leaves and the leafy parts of the chinese broccoli were set aside to add at the end. The rest I threw into a hot wok with a bit of sesame oil and started to fry it all up. I then added the sauce and let it simmer for a minute before adding the leafy greens. Once the leafy things are added it really only needs to cook for another minute or two. You want the leaves to soften, without turning to mush. When it is all ready, serve it over some rice (I used basmati), then top it with a little more cilantro.

And voila!

This meal can also be made completely vegan if you omit the fish sauce. If you do this, add a few extra squirts of soy sauce.

Hungry now? :)

Where Else To Reach Me!

I am normally quite against most forms of social media (don't ask me why I don't even know), but for the sake of my blog I have caved quite a bit. You can now also find me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook!

This is my Facebook page!

This is my Twitter account!

This is my Instagram!

Anyways, I'm still figuring out how best to use most of these, so I may not have many interesting things on them for a while that you don't also see on my blog, but I am working on it! I will hopefully be up to speed on all of this shortly :p. My goal is to post more everyday things on those. Feel free to check them out!

Spending Ban Update, Oops!

My new years resolution this year was to implement a spending ban until my birthday in May. This is a little update to let you all know I broke it.... Twice.... Hey I'm not perfect! I'm actually pretty proud that that is all I have done so far! I thought it would be much worse than this.

My first transgression happened about a week ago when I read that Notoriously Morbid was having a 40% off sale from Hello Pretty Bird (go check out that blog!!!). I had received a sample baggie of Neno in my first purchase from them and wanted a full jar SO BADLY! It is the most amazing taupe that is so packed with amazing sparkles! I could not pass up a full sized jar on sale, and while I was at it I ended up also adding one more colour I had my eye on. I will review those when they get here, can't wait!

My second transgression was a purchase I made yesterday. I was out with my boyfriend and was in a rather lousy mood when we happened across a tiny beauty supply store on a random side street, so we wandered in. This is what I picked out:

It is a black gel eyeliner pencil, since I always need one of those, and a brow pencil that looked like the perfect shade for me. Weirdly enough, neither of these actually has a brand name on it anywhere. The eyebrow pencil is called Indelible Brow and I was able to find online that it is made by Dermasoft Beauty. The eyeliner literally just says "Black" on it along with the weight of it, so I'm still working on figuring out what brand it is... The tester seemed like it was great quality though, so I got it regardless. My boyfriend helped pay for the purchase too, so thank you Nick! <3

These were the only two missteps in my spending ban so far, and I don't feel so bad because one was on sale, and the other was a badly needed pick me up that my amazing boyfriend helped pay for.

What do you think? Am I doing badly so far?

Valentine's Day Look #4

For my fourth Valentine's Day look, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to use the shade Wine from Star Crushed Minerals, but that was my only inspiration. I sat staring at the jar for a while and imagined a bunch of red looks, since this colour leans more red, so I decided I would use pink with it instead. Why not make it a challenge? This is what I came up with in the end:

I used Star Crushed Minerals' Wine in the crease and outer corner. On my lid is Redberry Rose from the Creme de Couture palette by Sigma. Everything was then blended out with Cherry Blossom from the same palette. For my inner corner highlight I used Glamour Doll Eyes Electric Chair. On my lips is NYX lipstick in Chloe.

I am really pleased with the outcome! The wine shade definitely is more of a rusty red but all of it's pink tones come out more here and I like it. What do you think?

Food: I Ate A Cactus!

Ok, so not the whole thing, but I tried a prickly pear fruit for the first time the other day and thought it would make a neat post!

I'll start off by saying DO NOT JUST GO PICK ONE OF THESE UP WITH YOUR BARE HANDS!!! Seriously, it looks like all the spines have been removed but it is still covered in tiny little barbed hairs that you will never get out of your hands! I was itchy the entire rest of the day!

Here is the painful fruit, sitting in a bowl of water. I rolled it around with the spoon, so I wouldn't have to touch it, until the little hairs were all rinsed off. Those are all the things floating through the water. They are seriously annoying, so make sure they are all rinsed off before using your bare hands! Next I cut off both ends and sliced down one side about 1cm in like this:

That is some quality iPhone camera work right there... Next you just stick your fingers into that slit and peel off all the outer skin! The skin part that peeled off ended up being a lot thicker than I thought it would be.

You could stop here and eat the whole thing with your bare hands like the animal you really are, or slice it up like I did.

Can I just say that this is the most amazing shade of pink? I want lipstick and eyeshadow in this exact shade and will now be on the hunt for them!

As for the taste of the cactus fruit, I really like it. I read before eating it that it is often compared to kiwis in flavour and I think I agree, but it is still kind of different. It was really sweet and had and interesting soft texture. It does have big black seeds all through it that are too hard to chew. You can spit them out or just swallow them apparently, so I swallowed them. Why not get the full experience? I didn't mind having to swallow them, but I can see how some people might.

This was a pretty off topic post, but I liked it so too bad. I am definitely going to be going back to the grocery store to get more of these soon! I'm also going to look into growing one of these if you can indoors. I always love adding to my house plant collection, and my favourite plants are edible ones/cacti. This is both so I WANT ONE! As long as it can grow in a 12 inch pot or smaller. My window ledge can only do so much...

What's your favourite fruit and/or the weirdest fruit you ate? I'm counting this as my weirdest fruit and my favourite is pineapple.

Valentine's Look #3: Low Key V-Day

This is a very low key V-day look for someone who is still going out, but might be in a bit of a rush. Or for those of us not very concerned with impressing their man (totally me... poor Nick). It is very basic face makeup with light blush and no contouring. I haven't even done my brows!

There is literally only one eyeshadow in this look, Mushroom by Glamour Doll Eyes. It is a gorgeous pink toned brown packed with sparkles. On my lips is Rimmel's Jet Set Red lipstick applied lightly with my finger and then topped with a Burt's Bees Lip Shine in Pucker.

That is it for my quick and easy V-day look! What are your plans for Valentine's Day?

Feb 11, 2014

Valentine's Look #2: Black And Red

So today's Valentine's look is a little edgier than the last one. I personally prefer red on V-day instead of pinks, so I really like this look!

Also, this is my crimped hair a couple of days later! Still wavy, I'm pleased!

I created a cut crease with Lunatick Cosmetic Labs shadows. The red is AlieNEON Radiation Red and the black is Confinement. I blended it all out Madison Street Beauty's Rose Quartz. This is a really pale almost white matte pink. I also packed this into my inner corners. This is actually a really good shade for brightening up your eyes. Next, a thin line of eyeliner and some mascara finished the look off. I could not decided what lipstick to wear and no shade looked good against that shade of red, so I ended up going with a slightly red tinted gloss. This one is a Burt's Bees Lip Shine in Pucker. My cheeks are done with the ELF blush and bronzer duo in St. Lucia, as usual.

That is it for my darker V-Day look! What kind of look do you want to see next?

Quick Look: Crimpin' Like It's 1999!

If you were a young girl in the 90s you probably remember putting your hair up in a bunch of braids overnight to get crimped hair at least once. Or maybe you got a crimping iron or something fancy (well lah dee dah! :P). I was thinking about that last night which eventually led to me actually doing my hair! This is what ended up happening:

This picture was actually taken the next morning after I had slept on it. This is 4 french braids. The 2 in the back are slightly bigger. I decided on just a few larger braids instead of a bunch all over, so I wouldn't get overly frizzy hair.

This is also a makeup look because I did my makeup before letting down my hair. I used my Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Jack's Nightmare palette and the black from the Asylum City palette. On my lips is Permafrost by Impulse Cosmetics.

That's my super serious face at the end there.

I'm really pleased with how my hair turned out! I wish I owned smaller elastics so I could have braided it right to the end, but that it the only problem I have with it. The ends are straight for a few inches, oh well. I really like this hair look on me and think I will be doing it a lot more often, since it was so easy!

So, that's it for today. I hope you liked my wavy 90s hair! :P

What's For Dinner? Yellow Vegetable Chick Pea Curry

I have decided I am going to make food posts a regular thing on my blog. Up until now I have just thrown in random posts if I made something particularly exciting, but I love talking about food about as much as I enjoy makeup, so why not? A warning before we dive in though: I rarely use a proper recipe or measure things out when I am cooking. I will often find an inspiration recipe and then do my own version of it using what I have. Even when I set out to follow a recipe, I can never seem to stick to it. For this reason, I won't always have a full recipe to give you, so people who need serious step by step instructions for cooking might not like this so much. I will try to start writing down what I do as I do it, but no guarantees!

Today's dinner came about because cans of full fat coconut milk were on sale for 98c at the grocery store yesterday, so I grabbed a whole pile of them. There are so many awesome things you can do with this stuff (coconut ice cream, coconut whipped cream, tons of sauces, etc)! One of my favourite recipes with coconut milk though is coconut rice. This one I do have a recipe for too!

Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups long grain rice (I used basmati)
- vegetable oil
- 1 can coconut milk (you can use low fat for this one)
- Approx. 2 cups water
- Salt, cumin, coriander

Instructions:
- Rinse the rice and put it in a tall pot
- Add a small drizzle of oil and toast the rice at a very low heat for a few minutes, stirring so nothing burns
- Add the can of coconut milk and enough water that the total liquid equals 3 cups
- Add a pinch of salt, cumin and coriander to the pot, cover and bring to a boil
- Once boiling, immediately reduce to a low simmer keeping the lid on the pot
- Simmer for about 15 minutes until there is no liquid left

This recipe does make a lot of rice, so make sure you use a big enough and tall enough pot!

Now for the curry that I made! This is a chickpea and vegetable curry that also uses coconut cream so even vegans can enjoy this one!

Getting everything ready to cook! I added a few things later as I went like eggplant. (haha, you can see my Sodastream stuff in the background, thanks tiny kitchen!)

Ingredients:
- 1 can chick peas
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 sweet potato, diced
- about 1/3 of a cauliflower, cut into small florets
- 1/2 eggplant, diced
- vegetable stock
- 1 can full fat coconut milk
- About 4 large garlic cloves
- Fresh ginger
- Chili paste
- Yellow curry powder
- Ground Cumin
- Ground Coriander
- Lemon juice
- salt, pepper - Couple tablespoons or so of a really lean, blonde roux (Google it if you have to! I just hate putting straight flour into a sauce to thicken it, I can taste the flour that way, yuck!)

Like I said, I am really bad at measuring things, so you can just guess all that!

I browned all the veggies slightly in a pot with some oil, added all the spices and let it cook another minute so the spices got all toasty, then added the liquids and let it cook until everything was tender. It should look kinda like this:

Once everything is cooked through, simply put some rice in a bowl and top it with the curry mixture!

That's it for the pseudo-recipe!

If you think I should make this a regular thing, let me know. Or alternately, if you see no point in me doing this if I can't provide a proper recipe also let me know. I could just post a lot of food pictures and not bother doing this half recipe stuff too. Any input would be really helpful!

Gipsy Dharma Boots

This is sort of a short, random post, but I have found the coolest boots in the world (in my opinion) and just had to share them with you! The company is Gipsy Dharma and they make fabulous leather boots and skirts.

I can totally picture myself in a pair of these when the warm weather hits! My current favourite are these awesome tan leather boots I would feel like a fairy in them! My favourite part is that they are adjustable all the way up, so for those of us with giant calves that never fit into knee high boots, these should still work! That is really awesome to me since I have never in my life been able to buy boots that go over my calves.

These are sadly a bit out of my price range, but they hold regular giveaways on their facebook page, so you should check that out if you want a pair!

What are your dream boots?

Review: Burt's Bees Radiance Day Cream and Eye Cream

The Burt's Bees Radiance collection is a skin care line that contains royal jelly. I decided to try their day cream and eye cream since I needed a new daily moisturizer and am always looking for a good eye cream. Burt's Bees claims that royal jelly will help to give you radiant younger looking skin. Now I don't know if I really need younger looking skin yet, but I wouldn't mind being a little more radiant! I have been using these for a little while now and thought it would be a good time for a review.

Day Cream:

I'll kick things off with the day cream. This sells for $24.99 on the Burt's Bees website for 55g of product, or 2 ounces. It comes in a plain glass jar with a silver lid and a small label on one side. When I first opened the lid the cardbaord lid insert (you know what im talking about I hope!) had come unglued and was stuck to the top of the jar. I managed to get it to stick back into the lid though.

I seriously need to start blogging during daylight hours so my photos don't all look like this....

This has a very faint scent of honey, which is actually not very pleasant, but you really have to stick your nose right in the jar to smell it. When I put it on my face it is pretty odorless. This cream has a kind of strange consistency when you try to rub it into your skin. It doesn't spread very far before it starts to sink in and become almost tacky feeling. I have to work small amounts in to different areas of my face, instead of putting a few globs on and rubbing them all over, like I normally do. Even though it starts to sink in so quickly, it doesn't all sink in and disappear immediately. It leaves your skin feeling almost waxy for a little while. It takes 10-15 minutes to sink in completely, which for me seems like a long time.

As for results, it does leave my skin feeling moisturized, and my skin does seem a bit more radiant and smooth to me. I'm not so sure I like the way I need to work it into my skin, but I'm a fan of the results! Would I buy this again? I'm sort of on the fence. I am not a huge fan of the texture of it, but under my makeup I don't really notice it at all. If it continues to give me great results I might buy another jar, since the price is so reasonable.

Eye Cream:

The eye cream claims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as making the skin look more radiant. This also costs $24.99 on their website, but there is 14g of product in this one. This also comes in a plain glass jar, but it has a white plastic lid instead. The only label is on the bottom of the jar. This one smells a lot nicer to me, even though it is a similar honey scent.

The eye cream is a lot thicker in the jar, but it smooths out a lot more easily on the skin and then sinks in. It does leave a slight bit of that same waxy feeling for a few minutes, but it is not nearly as bad with this one. I wonder if that is what royal jelly feels like? Anyways, this one is much easier to use than the day cream.

Does the eye cream really work? Well, I don't know it this one made my skin more radiant, but I did actually notice that the skin seemed more plumped up! This made the fine lines actually less noticeable! It doesn't do anything for the dark circles that plague me, but fewer fine lines means I can cake on my usual undereye concealer much more easily. Even when I scrunch my face up, which normally makes my eyes sink into a pile of wrinkles, it isn't so bad! Would I buy this eye cream again? Absolutely! It does exactly what it says it will and I am extremely pleased with the results!

Just for fun here is my bare face after using these products for a little while.

Do I look more radiant? You know, besides those horrible dark circles... Anyone who calls those radiant is a nutter.

Anyways, that's it for the review. To recap, I love the eye cream and would definitely repurchase it and I like the results of the day cream, but am not a huge fan of the application.

Do you use any Burt's Bees skincare products? What is your favourite?

I Did My Nails!!!

This literally never happens. I normally hate nail polish, but when Dom from Deareaux sent me that prize pack a little while ago it came with a NARS nail polish that I just couldn't ignore! The fact that I started rewatching Sailor Moon (because I am awesome) and she gets nail polish every time she transforms may have helped too. The shade is called Disco Inferno and it is a shimmery silver that has a purple and green sort of shift to it, depending on the light.

Yes, I dirtied up the bottle after just one use, but hey, I don't do this so the fact that I didn't make a bigger mess is pretty special. I applied 2 coats of this, since one coat was really sheer.

A close up, so you can see all the mistakes I made since I'm a nail polish noob! It was pretty much impossible to photograph the colour shift, but it has a purple sheen in most lighting and a green sheen in other lights.

I don't ever do this, so I'm not sure what else to say about the polish. I think it is pretty and I have managed to not pick it all off yet, even though I can totally feel it on my nails (which is why I never wear nail polish)! I still hate the feeling of nail polish though, so I can't promise that I will be doing this very often.
